Members of the Australian Institute of Physics can opt to join any number of the formal subgroups, which address specific interests relevant to physics. These groups are formally created by an act of the AIP Council as per page 28 in the AIP Constitution. These groups are useful for networking purposes, and participate in organising the program for the AIP Congress.
