Wagga Wagga is located in the Riverina region of New South Wales, on the land of the Wiradjuri people. The Murrumbidgee River flows through Wagga Wagga. It is one of Australia's great country towns, and a major hub for agriculture, industry, and solar. It is home to Charles Sturt University, the venue for the conference.
Wagga has warm dry summers, with temperatures of 16°C (minimum) - 31°C (maximum) typical for February.

Charles Sturt University is the conference venue. The university is about 7km from the centre of Wagga Wagga (where the train station is). There are two bus services per hour between the university campus and town, the 960 route and the 966 route, operated by Busabout Wagga. At present, tickets are purchased on the bus with cash only. Timetables vary: buses run between (approximately) 7am - 6pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 7am - 9pm Thursday and Friday, 9am - 9pm Saturday, 9am - 5pm Sunday.
There are also several taxi companies in Wagga Wagga.
Getting to Wagga Wagga in regional NSW is simple from one of the major cities in Australia - Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.
Wagga Wagga is nearly the same distance from Melbourne (state capital of Victoria [VIC]) and Sydney (state capital of New South Wales [NSW]). Melbourne and Sydney are destinations for many airlines, both domestic and international. Wagga Wagga is closer to Canberra (national capital, located in the Australian Capital Territory [ACT]), although Canberra has far fewer flight options.

NSW TrainLink services leave Sydney Central Station twice a day, at 7:40am and 8:42pm. Note that the train departing at 8:42pm will arrive at Wagga Wagga in the middle of the night. First class and sleeper options are available. It is possible to buy food and drink on the train, including hot lunch and dinner options.
Train services leave Wagga Wagga for Sydney at 0:22am and 1:07pm.
The train journey takes 6 hours 15 minutes one-way, and a one-way ticket costs approximately $60. Booking a ticket in advance is strongly recommended.
Sydney Airport is connected to Sydney Central Station by the Airport Link train.
Qantas flies directly to Wagga Wagga from Sydney three or four times daily. Regional Express (Rex) also flies directly to Wagga Wagga from Sydney three times daily.
The flight takes 1 hour 10 minutes. A return ticket costs around $450.
