3rd International Workshop on 3D Printing of Photonics Components

The 3rd International Workshop on 3D Printing of Photonics Components will be hosted by Prof Heike Ebendorff-Heidepriem and A/Prof Jiawen Li at the University of Sydney, in conjunction with the AIP Congress. The workshop aims to build a collaborative community in the emerging area of developing and utilising additive manufacturing for photonics applications ranging from micro-optics and integrated photonic devices to optical fibre preforms. World leaders (invited talks), ECRs and students (contributed talks) will present their latest breakthroughs. The workshop will offer morning tea and lunch for attendees to network and discuss potential collaborations in a relaxed environment.

A tour of the ANFF facility at the University of Sydney will be available from 3 - 4 pm. Registration for the tour will be available during the workshop.

Fabricating at the nanoscale: how to make the smallest devices

If you’re looking for a way to bring your research ideas to life or want to learn how to fabricate devices that are smaller than a human hair, come along to this ANFF workshop on nanofabrication techniques.

The workshop will cover, in a practical way, all the steps, processes and tools necessary to fabricate electronic devices at the micro and nano scale. Using real-life examples (or even better, your own ideas!) you will learn how you can use ANFF’s tools and expertise to create the structures and devices you want.

This workshop will be facilitated by ANFF’s process engineers, the very own people you will work with when you use ANFF’s facilities.

Established under the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy, the Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF) is comprised of 8 Nodes across 21 institutions throughout Australia. Each specialised ANFF Node has state-of-the-art facilities, technical expertise and academic knowledge to enable world-class research. With over 650 process tools and more than 150 experts, ANFF is a powerhouse of nanofabrication to support your research.
