The Australian Institute of Physics - NSW Awards and Prizes

Each university in NSW (and ACT) have nominated a HDR speaker to compete in the annual AIP Postgraduate Awards. All are welcome to attend this free event, which will happen alongside the AIP Congress at the University of Sydney. Come and support your favourite researcher!

Every nominee will compete for the $500 prize and Postgraduate medal on that day. The Royal Society of NSW will also award the Jak Kelly Scholarship prize of $500 as a separate award category for this event.

The annual Postgraduate Awards commenced in 1996, and the Royal Society of NSW Jak Kelly prize commenced in 2010. These awards aim to recognise the best physics research students in NSW.

Students will each make a 15-minute presentation on their postgraduate research in Physics, and the presentation will be judged on the criteria (1) content and scientific quality, (2) clarity and (3) presentation skills.

Event Schedule:

Student Presentations: Friday 11 December, from 9:00am start.

AIP NSW Annual General Meeting: From 12.15pm (note the break in the Awards for the AGM)

Presentation of Awards and Prizes: From 12.45pm

This event is proudly supported by the Australian Institute of Physics NSW Branch and The Royal Society of New South Wales.
